All our lives we've watched movies where the good guys beat the bad guys. And there's always a happy ending with the music swelling, making you cry as you watch good triumph over evil.
But that's not always what happens in real life. Actually, that only happens 20% of the time in reality. The rest is just that the downtrodden never get their fill of being downtrodden, and the villains keep piling on more evil.
But I'm not here to whine and cry along with you, saying "poor good people, overwhelmed by fate." No.
I'm here to say that what we were raised on is wrong. And wrong on a level bigger than just values or customs.
What we were raised on is wrong on the level of "energy" and "like attracts like."
There's a lot going on in that statement, but let me explain it simply.
If your energy, your thinking, and your beliefs tell you that whenever something bad happens to you, or someone wrongs you, or you lose a certain dream, you end up saying "well, that's my luck" or "never mind" or "this world is fleeting anyway"...
Or when your thinking is "I'm fine right where I am, because the people who rise up in rank, or get rich, or achieve their dreams, those are people riding a trend, or who don't fear God, or oppressors, or whatever"...
You're not just blocking every opportunity that comes your way, you're destroying any chance of advancing, changing, or improving your life.
I spent a very long stretch of my life afraid of money coming to me, because if I had money, surely that meant I wasn't a good person, or that I was selfish like so-and-so relative of ours, or so-and-so we know. When I stopped and sat with myself and understood that there's no shame in dreaming, no shame in being rich, and no shame in correcting my energy and expecting everything I wished for to come to me, when I stopped and said not every rich person is evil and not every poor person is good, that's when my life changed.
We'll talk a lot more about this in upcoming blog posts, but for now I need to go turn off the rice.
Peace
